We got a
little bit of coverage in our little local paper yesterday over our recent adoption of Blossom and Tinkerbell. I realize that not everyone loves animals the way I do, but why do people have such nasty, snarky reactions to the idea of someone attempting to alleviate suffering in the world? You can click on 'comments' to read what some of the local ignorant rednecks had to say about our story. Grr.
Some people are just upset because they can't forge relationships with humans as healthy as our relationships with animals. ;)
ReplyDeleteOh man.. I can't believe those insensitive jerks :(
ReplyDeleteSo sorry for those comments Tamara.... lots of ignorant people out there I guess.
ReplyDeleteHello! I adopted a turkey from farm sanctuary again this year. This time it was Echo who was chosen for me! We will be enjoying home-made vegetarian lasagna on Thanksgiving!
ReplyDeleteOn another note, I saw the Sarah Palin video last night and was totally sickened by it!!!
My general rule of thumb is ... NEVER READ THE COMMENTS.
ReplyDeleteWe are fortunate to know turkeys by name, and they are unfortunate enough to never know that kind of love.
Oh gosh they make me sick. They just want attention. For them posting comments on the internet is to them their 15 minutes of fame. Just ignore them. They are the one's hurting from guilt for hurting animals and they don't know how to react from their emotions other than to go on hurting others.
ReplyDeleteSeriously, what is wrong with people? Unfortunately, there are a lot of unintelligent, ignorant people out there. They were raised to not think about what they put in their mouths. I'm so glad I know people like you!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for giving a home to these beautiful birds. Some people have nothing in themselves to feel good about so they spend their time trying to tear others down. Just try to remember what empty frauds they are. The beauty you create in your work is real, the beauty in your heart that shines through in your kindness is real. They can never know beauty like that.
ReplyDeleteYour turkeys are great, and you are great for adopting them. I'm sorry that you have to share your community with some of the idiots who commented on the paper's article.
ReplyDeleteNo good deed goes unpunished right? I had the same thing happen when a paper published how I was helping to tighten laws on permanent neglectful dog chaining. I wouldn't even read the emails, they do no good just harm.
ReplyDeleteYou did the right thing :) Thats AWESOME!!
Don't pay those worthless excuses for humanity any mind, my dear. You rock and are wonderful for taking in such beautiful creatures!
ReplyDeleteI've gotten over being offended by those idiots. I think it's obvious to anyone reading those comments that those are just nasty, ignorant people. But I am glad that I responded so that I could get more information out than was included in the original article regarding the lives of factory farmed turkeys. Hopefully it will help educate someone out there.
ReplyDeleteTamara kudos to you for first of all simply living the vegan lifestyle. We all know how much vegans have to go through on a daily basis, often times being forced to defend out beliefs. It is unfair. You are truly a wonderful person to save those animals from their typical fate. Animal rights are important, compassion is the key and anyone who is too narrow minded and cold to see what a great thing you have done is simply ignorant. Do not take their comments to heart!
ReplyDeleteI agree! ;0) Thank you so much for helping the animals, you know they appreciate and need it ;)
