I got several new Zultanite stones the other day and I am madly in love with them. If I were in a position to design a wedding ring for myself right now, I can honestly say that I would choose Zultanite over moissanite; much as I love moissanite, there's something about the chameleon color changes in Zultanite that just totally wow me.*

Zultanite is a 100% natural gemstone with no enhancements. It is ethically mined with environmentally sound methods and fair wages for miners. Zultanite is extremely rare; only one mine produces genuine Zultanite, in the remote mountains of Turkey. This gorgeous stone has natural color change properties, showing green in sunlight and fluorescent light, and displaying pink and/or yellow flashes in soft incandescent light and candlelight. {sigh}

The other day I got a bee in my bonnet about trying some really simple ring designs that would simply and elegantly showcase the various kinds of gold I work with. Here's what I came up with -

I am destined for shoe disappointment.

I'm super bummed... after getting all excited about those shoes, I decided - since it was a company I hadn't heard of before - to check out their online reviews and customer testimonials (none of which are featured on their own website). I have discovered a LOT of complaints about negative customer service experiences, and now I'm afraid to order. When, oh when, will I find the summer sandals I crave?

Shoes, Glorious Shoes!

I am not much of a fashionista; I spend most days in jeans and a t-shirt. But I do have a bit of a weakness for shoes. I recently had a mini-shoe-heartbreak while shopping for the perfect pair of sandals for my upcoming trip to Guatemala - I ordered the cutest sandals ever from a mainstream shoe website; after carefully reading the description, which described man-made uppers and rubber soles, I determined them to be vegan and ordered them. After excitedly awaiting their delivery for several days, I opened the package with great anticipation, only to discover ... leather foot beds. Ugh. Needless to say, I sent them back.

I haven't had any luck finding a replacement pair of sandals for my trip - until today. How is it possible that I have not discovered Ragazzi Vegan before today? These shoes are exactly what I was hoping to find for my trip - a little chunky (somewhat reminiscent of Danskos, but ALL VEGAN), yet still summery - comfortable, with stable soles that are easy to walk in, even on cobblestone streets - and super cute! My new problem is going to be choosing which ones to buy - I'm not sure if I can narrow it down to just one pair...

And moving beyond just sandals, how cute are these?
