Fordite Cabochons For Sale

As I mentioned the other day, I'm not going to be making any more Fordite jewelry due to California's sucky new Lead In Jewelry law. So for all of you other jewelry designers who don't live in California*, here's a chance to pick up some gorgeous Fordite at a great price. For now they will just be for sale here on my blog; if they don't sell after a while, I'll put them up on my Etsy page as well. For now, if you're interested in purchasing one, just shoot me an email.

* I'd be wary of selling any finished pieces to California residents as well, but that's your call. I can't make heads or tails of this new law so I'm erring on the safe side. :-)

15mm diameter; very low (2mm) dome - $12 {SOLD}

Hi T :)

Actually, the law has been in effect for some time. No one, no matter where the seller is located, can sell jewelry to anyone with a CA address if it contains components that have lead in it (like a lot of plated metals contain lead, some pewter, etc).

So I stay away from using any components that contain lead (Swarovski crystals are ok, they meet the law's guidelines for jewelry for adults).

I didn't realize that the pretty Fordite cabs had lead in them :(

It's too bad, they are gorgeous!

I'm not even sure that they do contain lead, but since I can't prove that they don't, I'm not going to use them. I'm sad though.
