For the last couple of months, I've been wanting to make a set of five stacking rings for myself to symbolize the connections that our family has with Carlos' birthmother and foster family. Well, I finally realized that five rings is more than my little sausage finger can support without looking pretty ridiculous, and decided to make a pendant instead.
Each stone symbolizes a member of our family of adoption; from top to bottom - aquamarine (Carlos' foster mother's birthstone), citrine (an alternate birthstone for November, for Carlos' birthmother's birthday), peridot (Matt's birthstone), and two shades of pink tourmaline (both mine and Carlos' birthstone).
I've ordered a thick snake chain to wear it on - I can't wait until it gets here. These colors are perfect for summer and I'm really looking forward to wearing this symbol of our family.

That is a gorgeous pendant and the meaning behind it makes it even more special :-)
Lovely pendant!
That is just the sweetest thing to do. That really touched me. You will have to tell me about Carlos'birth Mother sometime, I didn't realize you knew much about her.
Oh, and it's gorgeous too.
oh my gosh. I want one. I've been racking my brain about wanting a piece of jewelry to symbolize this same thing also. email me charlietownmama yahoo to let me know a ballpark figure. I'll let you know the months to calculate. Brilliant!
And it looks like a goddess - was it meant to? It really IS gorgeous!
beautiful - and meaningful.
bettejo, I didn't really have a conscious plan for it to look like a goddess, but as I was laying out the stones to figure out how to arrange them, I did notice that resemblance, and I liked it.
This is wonderful! It's both gorgeous and sentimental. You are so creative and do such beautiful work.
This pendant looks awesome, and the connection to the people in Carlos' life who love him so much makes me feel like crying. I'll bet other people would love something like it. I would. Kind of like a mother's ring.
This is just gorgeous! Great job!
